Once the referencing procedure is completed and all checks have passed, the holding deposit can either be returned to the applicant, or put towards the first months' rent or deposit.
Some or all of the holding deposit can be retained by the agent if the applicant withdraws their application or does not pass the referencing procedure by providing false or misleading information.
